Acceptable Use Policy

The short version: Use Addlify for legitimate business purposes, play fair, don't try to abuse the system, and don't share your licence key. Violations may result in immediate account termination. If you're unsure whether something is allowed, just ask us at support@addlify.uk — we'd rather answer a question than enforce this policy.

1. Scope

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") applies to all users of any Addlify product or service, including Addlify Finance, Addlify Medic, and any future add-ins, as well as to the addlify.uk website and any associated APIs. It supplements the Terms & Conditions and is incorporated into them by reference.

By using any Addlify service you agree to comply with this AUP. If you are acting on behalf of a company or organisation, you also accept responsibility for ensuring that all users within your organisation comply.

2. Permitted use

You may use Addlify products to:

Generate, validate and submit tax documents — MTD quarterly updates and VAT Returns to HMRC (UK), e-Factura XML and SAF-T to ANAF (RO) — on your own behalf or on behalf of clients whose data you are authorised to process.
Look up public taxpayer data from HMRC (UK) or ANAF (RO) open registries for legitimate business verification purposes.
Automate your own internal accounting or documentation workflows.
Integrate with our ERP API (Enterprise plan) for your own authorised business systems.
Evaluate the software during the free trial for your own internal assessment.

3. Prohibited use

3.1 Licence abuse

Sharing your licence key with other users, businesses, or individuals outside your permitted device count.
Publishing your licence key publicly (e.g. in GitHub repositories, forums, screenshots, or public documents).
Creating multiple trial accounts — using different email addresses, names, or company details — to extend or repeat the free trial. This constitutes fraud.
Reselling, sublicensing or redistributing access to the add-in or its features to third parties.
Using a single licence to provide commercial services to multiple unrelated clients without the appropriate Cabinet or Enterprise plan.

3.2 Technical abuse

Attempting to reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or derive source code from any Addlify add-in or API.
Attempting to bypass, circumvent, or interfere with the licence validation system, device fingerprinting, or rate limiting mechanisms.
Sending automated requests to our API at a volume that exceeds your plan's rate limits or that degrades service for other users.
Using bots, scrapers, or automated tools to access addlify.uk beyond what the API explicitly permits.
Probing, scanning, or testing the security of our systems without prior written authorisation from Addlify.
Attempting to access data or accounts that do not belong to you.
Injecting malicious code or content through any input field or API endpoint.

3.3 Unlawful use

Using the Service to generate, submit, or facilitate fraudulent tax documents or to assist in tax evasion.
Processing personal data through the Service in violation of GDPR, UK GDPR, or any other applicable data protection law.
Using the Service in a manner that violates any applicable UK, Romanian or EU law or regulation, including HMRC MTD or ANAF submission rules.
Using the Service in connection with money laundering, fraud, or any other criminal activity.

3.4 Conduct

Contacting our support team in an abusive, threatening, or harassing manner — in writing or otherwise.
Impersonating Addlify, its employees, or other users.
Misrepresenting your affiliation with Addlify in communications with third parties.
Submitting false or misleading feedback, reviews, or bug reports intended to manipulate our roadmap or harm our reputation.

4. ERP API — additional rules (Enterprise plan)

If you use the Addlify Finance ERP API:

API keys must be kept confidential and must not be embedded in client-side code, public repositories, or any environment accessible to unauthorised parties.
You are responsible for all requests made using your API keys. If a key is compromised, revoke it immediately via the Enterprise dashboard and notify us.
The API may not be used to build a competing product or service, or to resell API access to third parties.
Rate limits (600 requests/hour per key) apply. Contact us if your legitimate use case requires higher limits.

5. Reporting abuse

If you believe someone is violating this AUP — including sharing licence keys publicly or using Addlify for unlawful purposes — please report it to support@addlify.uk. We investigate all reports promptly and treat them confidentially.

6. Consequences of violation

⚠️ Violations of this AUP may result in, at our sole discretion and without prior notice:

Immediate suspension or permanent termination of your account and all associated licence keys.
Forfeiture of any unused subscription period without refund.
Reporting to relevant authorities (HMRC, ICO, ANAF, ANSPDCP, or law enforcement) where required by law.
Legal action to recover damages caused by your violation.

We prefer to resolve issues amicably. If you have inadvertently violated this AUP and reach out proactively, we will take that into account.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this AUP from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email at least 14 days in advance. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance.
